Off late, there has been development which can be witnessed in Vidarbha region particularly in IT Industry. The IT Industry has been emerging as one of the major employment generating sector. Many big IT giants have established their offices at MIHAN and also in Nagpur City. There are few small IT Companies in other districts of Vidarbha also.
However, there was no forum in which the IT Industries can interact with each other and take the issues pertaining to their industry to the appropriate authority. In view of this, Vidarbha Industries Association (VIA) approached the IT Industries and advised them to form a common platform. There has been a positive response from the IT Industries and on 11th August 2021, an IT FORUM has been formed under VIA. The forum is expected to discuss the issues particularly relating to IT Industries and take it forward with the respective Government Agencies as well as to drive the activities for IT industries of the region.
The meeting was attended by Aditya Saraf – Vice President VIA, Dr. Suhas Buddhe – Vice President VIA, Arvind Kumar – Centre Head Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nagpur (Virtual), Shailesh Awale – Centre Head HCL Technologies Ltd. Nagpur (Virtual), Harshal Gajghate – HR Head Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nagpur, Abhijeet Deshmukh, Head Administration HCL Technologies Ltd. Nagpur, Revati Mulmulay – HR Manager Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) Nagpur.
Harshal Gajghate has been formally appointed as CHAIRMAN of IT Forum and other members Abhijeet Deshmukh and Revati Mulmulay will be conveners. The newly formed forum encourages all other IT industries of the region to come forward and participate.
Arvind Kumar while expressing his expectations from the forum said that it should be for the benefit of the IT Industry in general and the region in particular. The IT Industry should provide enough employment opportunities to the citizens of the region. He also expressed the thought that the forum would generate adequate awareness about the opportunities in the IT Sector.
Shailesh Awale said that at present every IT Industry is working in isolation at Mihan. They all can collaborate for achieving a minimum common program. Incidentally, METRO is now reaching up to Mihan which should boost the prospects of Mihan as also the Industries established at the location.
Harshal Gajghate said that the major problem before the industry is Talent Search. The IT Industry looks at SME’s to guide employees from the IT Sector. The forum would arrange for webinars, seminars, Hands-on training, sharing best practice, New trends for the benefit of new as well as existing employees of IT Industries. He advised that the forum should approach Technical as well as Non-Technical Education Institutes and generate employment opportunities for the young generations. The talent available in Vidarbha should be nurtured. As a CSR activity a proper planning should be done for empowering differently-abled less privileged. Revati Mulmulay talked about Youth employment program for the region.
Aditya Saraf explained about the functioning of the forum, conducting workshops, etc. Dr Suhas Buddhe told the forum that the canvas is blank and the forum can paint as it desires. He also expressed his wish to take the work of the forum to all the 11 districts of Vidarbha.
