The Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said that we should give priority to save lives of the citizens in the current situation of COVID-19 rather than celebrating festivals with fanfare. We should keep away the festivals for time being and work for overcoming the the situation to provide relief to the people, he said.
He was speaking online to a deputation of Govinda teams regarding celebrating ‘Dahi-Handi’ at Mumbai on Monday. In response to the appeal made by the Chief Minister, the office-bearers of teams agreed to the views of Thackeray and said they would take up social and health activities and celebrate the festivals in a different way or on low key.
