A team of forestmen from Maharashtra nabbed fourth accused on Thursday in the case of tiger bones seizure at Khawasa in MP unearthed on August 25.
During interrogation. Balchand Varkhade, the main accused, had confessed involvement of Kailash Panjabrao Bhalavi, a Resident from Ramtek tehsil. Forestmen collected his contact number and sought help from Cyber Cell, Melghat to know his location. They then raided his house and seized some tiger bones. Kailash was then brought to Sillari in East Pench. Higher officers gave instructions and then forestmen handed over Kailash to Kurai sub-division, Seoni, in MP last night along with seized tiger bones, informed reliable sources.
Meanwhile, in the joint operation by MP and Maharashtra forestmen had seized over eight kg of tiger bones from Varkhade. They had also arrested two more accused – Roshan Uikey and Narpat Kodwate. MP officers had produced them in the MP court that granted MCR to them, it is reported.
The forestmen from both States are making further investigation to know more about the inter-state organised gang in poaching tigers.
