District Admionistration has asked Ganesh Saarvajanik Mandals and citizens to celebrate the 10-day Ganesh festival in a simple way owing to coronavirus pandemic. It said that the rush during the festival should not become a cause of increase in the corona cases.
Jagdish Katkar, Additional District Magistrate, said that the mandals should provide facilities like thermal screening. The government has issued guidelines in view of possible third wave. They should also make arrangement for website, online, cable network, facebook etc for people to get ‘darshan’ of Lord Ganesh. They should also take there is no rush of devotees in the mandal premises. Instead of organising cultural programmes, they go in for health camps or bloo donation camps. It is binding on mandals to follow the rules issued by Health Department, municipal corporation, Police Department and others, said Katkar.
