A deputation led by Krishna Khopde and Vikas Kumbhare, both MLAs, met the Commissioner of Police on the issue of removal of Ganga Jamuna, red light area, and demanded search of every house and basement to liberate minor girls.
The leaders submitted a memorandum to the CP on Tuesday, pointing out that prostitution has again increased in view no proper police bandobust. They demanded strengthening of the bandobust to check the activities. As per the directives by the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court the prostitutes can live there but they they cannot do such activities. This order should be followed, they also demanded.
The memorandum demanded action against illegal construction activities and injustice being done to minor girls. The CP gave a favourable reply to the deputationists.
The deputation comprised Manoj Chaple, Corporator, Raju Dhakate, former Corporator, Shyam Chaudhariand Dhanraj Mendhekar.
