To commemorate 75 years of Independence Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) commence a year-long celebration at Hingna on Wednesday.
To mark the day CRPF team of cyclists who had embarked on their journey from Kanyakumari to Rajghat were welcomed by Maharastra Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sunil Kedar along with CRPF Deputy Inspector General Prashant Jambhulkar, Commandant Subhash Chandra, Santosh Mishra, Commandant Karuna Rai, Public Relation Officer Pradeep Dwivedi, and other senior officers were prominently present on the occasion.
Kedar asked the youths of the nation to be responsible citizens and asked them to pledge to perform their duties with utmost sincerity.
CRPF Deputy Inspector General Prashant Jambhulkar informed about various events lined up to celebrate the 75th year of India’s independence under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. The main aim of the rally was to spread the message of United India, he added. CRPF’s cycle rally started from Kanyakumari on August 22.
As many as 30 riders reached the city on Wednesday covering 580 kms from Hyderabad. The day was marked with various cultural programmes. Dhol-taasha, recitation of patriotic songs by Nehru Yuwa Kendra and dance by students of Kendriya Vidyalaya was organized.
The cycle rally reached Nagpur on Wednesday morning. The bicycle rally which started from Kanyakumari will reach Rajghat in Delhi on October 2.
