Vehicle drivers of the city are not filing e-challan despite receiving notices many times. In view of this the process has been started to put up the case of drivers who have not furnished e-challan before the Lok Adalat, In view of this city police have sent notices to 26,412 drivers.
The traffic department has imposed fines of 26412 driv ers in a year for violating the traffic rules.
In this way, 3.68 crore is due on drivers. After that the department has informed to the drivers many times to furnish the e challan but they are not pay ing attention.
In view of this notices have been sent through legal authority from March 1 to August 21.
Apart from this message has been sent on mobile phone for submitting e challan by September 21.
After the end of the period concerned drivers have been asked to present before Lok Adalat. If the driver does not present a satisfactory side, then the police can take action to confiscate the vehicle to recover the amount of fine.
There have been allegations about the action of the employees of the traffic department. Along with this, many times there has been a situation of dispute and even fighting. Many times the videos were made viral. To avert these incidents, commissioner of police Amitesh Kumar ordered to take e-challan action. Since then the allegations and controversies have decreased.
