The religious places will be opened for the devotees from October 7.
The decision to open the temples has been taken on Friday late evening.
The day also marks beginning of Ashvin month and Navratri celebrations.
October 7 is Ghatsthapna day, one of the most auspicious day of Hindus.
All religious places remained closed since the first wave of Corona, announced in March last year.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced the decision on his tweet account.
The decision follows the decision to reopen the schools from October 4.
