The relief and joy of Nagpurians of having zero Corona positivity on Wednesday, was short lived. The number has again entered double figure the next day.
On Thursday 15 positive cases have been reported, 11 in city, three rural and one outsider. Following relaxation in lockdown norms, people have started violating the preventive norms. Not using mask and maintaining social distance appears to be the rule of the past. Even after experiencing heavy toll of human life during the second wave, people have not learnt the lesson properly.
Spitting on road, which was under control due to mask on the face, has started again. Even those honoured as Corona Warriors, including police personnel and those in medical profession, can be seen moving without masks or spitting on roads.
The testing figures are still in thousands. The positivity is in double digit for a long time. In all 4,657 tests were conducted, which include 1,206 in rural area and 3,451 in urban. The deaths due to corona have been under control, and the cumulative figure is stable at 10,120 (5,893 city, 2,603 rural, and 1,624 outsiders).
The recovery rate has been stated at 97.93 per cent and active cases are 73. On Thursday 12 persons have been reported to have recovered from Corona infection.
