Maharajbag zoo celebrated Wildlife Week by organising various competitions like quiz, wildlife photography, drawing/painting, street play, rangoli etc for students in the premises of the zoo for the week concluding on Thursday.
It organised various programmes including lectures by experts for the students in cooperation with Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya and the Institute of Science. The zoo also made arrangements for online live zoo visit for the students. Drawing/painting competition and street play programmes were held in the zoo while other programmes were organised online. Students of Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya took part in the street play and created awareness among the visitors about the protection of wild animals.
Sachin Thakre, GIS expert, Dr Jayant Wadatkar, Honorary Wildlife Warden, Amravati, Gopalrao Thosar, Senior Environmentalist, Ratnakar Nagpurkar, Deputy Director, Forest Training Institute, Jalna, Dr Sunil Bawaskar, In-charge Officer, Maharajbag Zoo, Suvarna Kawale, Education Officer of the zoo, Dr Mohammad Idris Shaikh, Head, Environmental Science, Institute of Science, Dr Archana Patil, faculty member of the institute, Neha Gaur, HoD, Environment, Kamla Nehru Mahavidyalaya, and other delivered lectures on various subjects concerning wildlife and guided students.
