Maharashtra State Khadi & Village Industries Board (KVIB) is implementing Honey Centre Scheme for offering employment opportunities to rural masses through honey bee keeping business to bring subsidiary income and earn a livelihood. A committee has been set up under the presidentship of the District Collector for the purpose.
The District Village Industries Officer of the board has appealed to eligible persons and organisations to submit application forms in the board office at Udyog Bhavan, 6th floor, Civil Lines, Nagpur. They may contact phone no: 0712-2534942 for obtaining further details.
The special features of the scheme are Free training in honey-making business, 50 per cent grants in kind and 50 per cent self investment, purchasing honey at government’s support price, special hobby training facility, awareness about honey bee protection/conservation etc. The application should be literate having above 18 years of age and priority will be given to persons having their own agricultural land.
The In-charge of a centre should be progressive in honey bee keeping activities with one acre of land. Such persons can obtain further information from the board office, says an official press note issued here on Saturday.
