Another raid by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to catch hold of former Home Minister Anil Deshmukh and his family members, turned futile on Monday.
The CBI sleuths raided some places in Nagpur and Mumbai, with an expectation that any member of Deshmukh family might have turned up, in view of the ongoing Navratri celebrations. However, they had to return empty handed.
Since charges of money laundering and corruption levelled against Anil Deshmukh, followed by summons issued to his wife Arti and son Salil, besides him, the family members are untraceable. Former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh is also reported absconding since then.
None of them appeared before the CBI or Enforcement Directorate (ED).
The team of five members have denied of having issued arrest warrant against Salil and Ridhi (Salil’s wife).
No official statement has come from CBI, so far.
