In order to meet the increasing demand of the tourists, the management of Navegaon-Nagzira Tiger Reserve (NNTR) has started canter service for them from Gondia to enjoy jungle safari with only Rs 500 charge per head.
Nayana Gunde, the District Collector, Gondia, inaugurated the vehicle at a brief ceremony held at Van Bhavan on Friday. Manikanda Ramanujam, Field Director, NNTR, Rajendra Sadgir, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Rupesh Nimbarte, NGO representative, Praful Jarode and staff members of Forest Department were present.
Addressing the gathering, Gunde appreciated the management for providing the facility to the people, who face vehicle problem but want to enjoy jungle safari. She assured that depending on the response the administration would consider to provide services of another canter in the interest of tourist at this popular destination.

At present, the canter service will be made available for tourists on weekends with two safari each day at 6 am and 1.30 pm. The offline reservation is on first come first served basis. The tourists will have the bonus to move from Pangdi forest range on way to mangezari gate of the park, which is around 25 km from Gondia.
Ramanujam informed that he could increase the services of canter on week days, if the situation demands so in the future.
