A Nagpurian has earned prestigious award at national level for his Marathi film ‘Bardo’.
The award was conferred upon Dr Nishad Chimote at the hands of Vice-President Vyankaya Naidu, during a function held at Delhi on Monday. Renowned film a tor Rajanikant was honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke award during the same function.
Son of noted test tube baby expert Dr Natchandra Chimote Dr Nishad’s Pachajanya Production produced the film, based on Bhagwan Buddha’s concept of confusion prevailing in life and after that, birth and rebirth.
Software engineer Rohan Gokhale is the music composer. Sheets Pendse has written the script. All the three are Nagpurians.
Renowned actors Anjali Patil, Makrand Deshpande, Ashok Samarth and Shweta Pendse are in lead roles. Bhimrao Mundhe has directed the film.
The achievement at national level is believed to be first for the city.
