Former Maharashtra Minister Anil Deshmukh has been remanded magisterial custody upto November 29. Deshmukh is facing charges of money laundering and extortion, levelled against him by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh.
Deshmukh, who eluded several summons from Enforcement Directorate, appeared before ED on November 1. He was interrogated by the ED official and arrested him in the wee hours of November 2. He was granted ED custody. On Monday he was produced before the court, which granted magisterial custody till November 29.
Investigation of money laundering has led to ED issuing summons to his son Hrishikesh. He also moved court, but failed to get any relief. Hrishikesh is also likely to be arrested.
