The Christmas celebration has started in city as different social, cultural and educational institutions conducted different activities to mark Christmas.
Mure Memorial Hospital Mure Memorial Hospital conducted Christmas celebration at The ArkHall in Hospital premises recently. Staff members and nursing students actively participated in the programme. Dance, songs, skit and nativity were presented by the students during the event.
The 125th anniversary souvenir of Mure Memorial Hospital was also released during the event. Andrew Rathod, Bishop, CNI Nagpur Diocese and Dr Rajabhau Taksale, Director, St Paul’s School were the guests during the event.
Vilas Shende, Director, Mure Memorial Hospital, welcomed all the guests during the programme. Dr Prashant Shelke, Principal, Hislop College, George Varghese, CG Khisty, Samson Samuel, Aradhana Upadhyay, Dr Sushma Dongre, Suresh Sonawne, Dr Arun John Paul, VijaySutar, ShimyMathew, Sulekha Parage and others were present during the event. Catholic Association of Nagpur Catholic Association of Nagpur conducted the festival of Carol (Christmas Songs) competition at St Francis De Sales Cathedral recently. More than 12 groups from the city participated in the contest.
The groups were SFS Cathedral, St Anthony’s Church, St Joseph’s School Fetri, St. Xavier’s Church and many other participated in it.
Rev Dr Elias Gonsalves, Archbishop of Nagpur was the chief guest of the programme. Father Anthony D’Souza, Parish Prist of SFS Cathedral presided over the function.
Fr Justus Paul, Fr Philip Topno, Jose Thomas, Dr Arun Joseph, Dr Roy George,Vijay Fernandez and others were present during the event.
Nagpur Multipurpose Social Service Society Nagpur Multipurpose Social Service Society (NMSSS), the social wing of Archdiocese of Nagpur, provided free ration kits to 150 migrant households in Bokara at Godhani to mark Christmas celebration recently.
The ration kits are supported by Conference of Catholic Bishops of India, Hutchins, Bangalore. Vijay Barse, Fr Patrick Lemos, Fr Prem Arockia, Jose Thomas, Vijay Fernandes, Sanjay Francis and others participated in the free ration kit distribution.
