The strike of non-teaching employees of non-agriculture universities in Maharashtra has been withdrawn on Tuesday evening.
The decision to withdraw from the strike was taken following a discussion with the State Government authorities in Mumbai. The authorities at the Higher Education Department and Secretary with the minister have assured that the demands have been considered sympathetically and sought 15 days’ time to complete the formalities and issue notification in this connection.
The employees then decided to withdraw the strike, which was started on December 18.
The employees have been demanding revision of pay scales as per recommendations of the Seventh Pay Commission, timely placement in higher grade etc.
