The Health Department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has now focused its attention on super spreaders with a view to breaking the chain.
A team of the department conducted tests of over 3,000 super spreaders on Saturday at markets, busy roads, gardens, shops, mangal karyalayas, private offices. The campaign was launched in all ten municipal zones in the city.
The number of corona patients is increasing within the municipal limits during the last some days. Therefore, it is necessary to conduct tests regularly in order to control the infection. Even though the persons working at difference places and moving in market areas do not any symptoms of the disease they come in contact with others. Therefore, they prove to be super spreaders. The team conducted RT-PCR tests of such persons from Dora Chowk to Kamal Chowk.
Moreover, the team members conducted the tests in Kalamna Market, Gondwana Club, Cotton Market, Dhantoli garden, Mangalwari zone, Sitabuldi, Sadar Police Station, Mahal, Sakkardara, Lakadganj, Dalalpura and other areas.
Dr Sanjay Chilkar, Health Officer, Dr Vijay Joshi, Asstt Health Officer, Dr Shubham Mangate and others were present during the tests. The campaign was launched under the guidance of Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner, and Dipak Kumar Meena, Addl Commissioner, to tackle coronavirus.
