A six-month-old leopard cub (female) died on the spot at Kandri Mines on Nagpur-Ramtek road (NH 44) when an unidentified vehicle hit it on Sunday evening.
Upon getting information, Sandip Giri, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Ritesh Bhongade, Range Forest Officer, Ramtek, and staff reached the spot and conducted activities as per the SOP of National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA).
A team of doctors including Sayyad bilal Ali, Vidya Pansare and Mayur Kate conducted post mortem on Monday morning. Later, the carcass was burnt in the premises of Transit Treatment Centre at Seminary Hills.
Avinash Londe, Representative of NTCA, Udham Singh Yadav, Representative of PCCF (Wildlife) Kundan Hate, Member, State Board for Wildlife, Vijay Gangawane, Range Forest Officer, and others were present.
