Around 1700 aircraft technicians serving at Air India Engineering Services Limited in Mihan, have decided to go on tool down indefinite strike from January 17 to press the demand for long due salary revision.
The aircraft maintenance technicians (Fixed Term Employees) submitted a memorandum to the Chief Executive Officer of the company pointed that the employees have been demanding for salary revision for the last two years but the authorities concerned failed to pay any heed.
As per the labour rules there is a provision for making permanent temporary employees having put in three years’ service but the authorities ignored this issue also.
Moreover, despite being PASU company it has not paid dearness allowance to the employees even after repeated representations.
With these uncertainties the employees feel that they are not mentally fit to work on aircraft as it may hinder passengers’ safety.
