Maharashtra English School Trustees’ Association (MESTA) has decided to reopen schools from January 17.
The decision has been announced by MESTA President Sanjay Tayde. He stated that the students will be allowed to attend the schools only after securing consent of their parents.
About 18,000 schools across Maharashtra are affiliated to MESTA.
Tayde said that the Association made several requests to the State Government to reopen the schools. With all other agencies allowed to function normally, why only educational institutions are being closed. Tayde said that after discussion with all members MESTA has decided to reopen schools from Standard VIII to Std XII in urban areas and from Std I to XII in rural areas.
He has also appealed to the State Government authorities not to pose problems for the schools which will function by following all Corona norms.
