Round Table India has been consistent in striving to perform unconditional philanthropic acts.
When natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, pandemic etc. hits some place in our country, the affected people or needy people rely on the generosity of strangers to help rebuild their lives. Donations to disaster relief organizations, local food banks, and other charities do make a big difference to people in great need.
While many do donate to these disaster relief causes, there are other identifiable needy sections or causes that do need donations to fulfill the needs. With Round Table India on its aim and mission of Freedom through Education by building Classrooms in schools which cater to poor and needy children, they have undertaken many efforts and activities to raise funds to achieve the same.
One such event is the auction of pins (the symbol of a Tabler, office-bearer of Round Table or theme of a particular Table made in a pin)
When the school at Hingna was identified as needy of classrooms, Nagpur Round Table-83 decided to hold an auction of pins to raise funds. The estimated cost of building the classrooms is Rupees Fifty Lacks (Rs. 50, 00,000/-). The project will be undertaken in two phases.
A Past President of Round Table India donated a jacket with many pins to be auctioned to raise funds. The jacket has more than 400 pins (both International as well as Indian), rare pins & local pins.
Other Tablers have started donating pins and goodies too, to be auctioned to raise funds. One Tabler has donated a Cricket Bat autographed by Australian pace bowler Bret Lee. As of date the Pin count has crossed 600 pins and other goodies.
