The calendar brought out by the Microbiology Society of India, to promote scientific temper among the students, has gained popularity and is in great demand.
The Society, which had published 1500 calendar copies, published 1,500 more, following demand from various industries, medical practitioners and educational institutions.
The calendar for the year 2022 was unique and provides information about renowned scientists. With their date of birth, information in brief about their path-breaking research has been provided. Avenues for the students in science at national and international level, scientific laboratories in various specialised fields and other valuable information is provided in the calendar.
Dr Sanjeev Patankar from Nagpur, along with Dr A Archana (New Delhi) and Dr Shanmugam (Tamilnadu) conceptualised the calendar. A nation-wide design competition was held to finalise it.
Dr Patankar informed The Live Nagpur that the news about the calendar, first published by The Live Nagpur reached many places in the country. The demand for it came from various parts of the country. It was expected that it will attract educational institutions only. However, the demand is being received from medical practitioners, scientific laboratories and also some industries.
MSI, which had distributed the calendar free of cost, has decided to publish more copies following the demand, Dr Patankar said.
