Indian National Congress in Maharashtra will launch protest agitation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s statement terming Maharashtra as Corona Super Spreader.
Maharashtra Unit Chief of Congress Nana Patole stated that the state-wide agitation demanding Modi to apologise for his statement, Modi, during election campaign in Uttar Pradesh on stated that Maharashtra sent people from UP and Bihar back home, thus spreading Corona in those states. Special trains were arranged to send them back.
Patole has condemned this statement and announced agitation against it from Wednesday.
Besides Patole, Nationalist Congress Party leader and MP Supriya Suley also stated that the trains were arranged by the then Railway Minister Piyush Goel. Goel’s efforts were appreciated by all party leaders and former Maharashtra Minister Devendra Fadnavis. She also stated that more number of trains were arranged from Gujarat by the Centre, compared to those from Maharashtra. Shiv Sena leader and MP Sanjay Raut has also criticized Modi for his statement and called him a liar.
