A big fire broke out in KanjiHouse in Yashodhara Nagar on Friday that gutted a saw mill while the fire spread to nearby Sonpapdi factory, plastic godown etc making damages to the materials.
When contacted, Rajendra Uchake, Chief Fire Officer, told to The Live Nagpur that Fire Brigade sent nine tenders to douse the fire. However, the tenders could not reach to the spot early due to congested roads/lines, hampering the extinguish work.
Uchake, who was on the spot to supervise and instruct foremen, said that Fire Brigade could not bring the fire under control till 7.30 pm while the firemen were making every effort to extinguish it.
It is also learnt that another fire broke out in Binaki Mangalwari, Mehadibagh Colony, when fire broke out in a chemical factory in the evening, damging five houses.
One more fire is reported at a store room under the jurisdiction of Namakganj Police Chowky at 2 pm in whjch materials kept in the store room belonging to Tulsiram Umredkar were reduced to ashes. The fire spread to nearby Atmaram Tower and caused damagers to flats. Four Ganjipeth fire tenders reached the spot to extinguish the fire and brought it under control.
