Vijay Wadettiwar, In-charge Minister for Chandrapur district, instructed the officers concerned to expedite the work of underground pipelines from Gosikhurd Irrigation Project in order to make available irrigation facilities to farmers during coming Kharif season.
He was addressing a meeting held at Ravi Bhavan here on Thursday to take review of works being done in Chandrapur district. Rajendra Mohite, Executive Director, Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation, Ashish Deogade, Chief Engineer, Gosikhurd project, Ankur Desai, Superintending Engineer, P N Patil, Superintending Engineer from Chandrapur and others were present.
Wadettiwar further said that it was important to complete the works of canals and underground pipelines for taking water to the borders of fields adding that the officials should ensure completion of these works with speed by maintaining quality. He wanted that they should listen to the complaints in this regard from cultivators and solve them. They should also undertake repairing works of canal bridges and connecting roads.
The minister wanted that the officials should prepare proposals for getting administrative sanction and funds to Adyal and Mendhki lift irrigation schemes, for increasing height of Asolamendha dam and providing land under Asolamendha project for tourism purpose to Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation on rent basis.
