Presence of a sloth-bear in Hudkeshwar Khurd area created sensation among the residents during night time. Stry dogs were barking continuously that doubted people.
Hearing the dogs barking behind Laddu Dhaba, Swaraj nagar road, Rahul Rautwar came out of the home and seared shed for goats. He then saw with the help of torch that the sloth-bear was moving alone in the bushes. Some more residents also started gathering at the spot and informed Orange City Wildlife Rescue Team, People for Animals and Wildlife Welfare Society about the incident. They also informed Forest Department about it.
The volunteers arrived at the spot in the night, searched the wild animal and monitored its movements. The sloth-bear was moving in Zudpi jungle and after search for long time the wild animal disappeared in the jungle. The sloth-bear must have strayed towards outskirts of the city from Matkazari, zari, Kaladongri, Banwadi, Wadad or Junapani forest areas.
Anikt Surushe, pratik Vidhwans, Ashish Mendhe, Nikhil Nagpure, Piyush Puri, Ketan Deshmukh, Ankit Khalode, Akash Kshettiwar and others helped the citizens in search drive.
