A delegation of all the industries associations of the region were invited by Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Mining, GoM, Subhash Desai to take review of major issues concerning performances of the industries of this region today, 17th February at MIDC Office, Udyog Bhawan, Nagpur.
Hon’ble Minister for Industries & Mining, GoM took immediate action on the issues submitted by Industries Associations and assured that Dy CEO of MIDC will be available in Nagpur twice (Friday/Saturday) every week to address the issues of industries. He further said, he will coordinate a joint meeting with Hon’ble Dy CM & Finance Minister along with Hon’ble Energy Minister as well as Revenue Minister, including representatives of associations to discuss the Vidarbha-Marathwada Power subsidy and RR Rates issues being faced by industries.
On encroachment at MIDC areas, he informed that his Ministry is working on this and soon will come out with strict actions.
During the meeting, a detailed memorandum was submitted by associations, major points consisting of Continuity of Vidarbha–Marathwada Electricity Subsidy with regular release of funds by the Finance Department. It was also stressed that Hon Minister May kindly ensure additional provisions being made in the budget 2022/23 for Vidarbha – Marathwada Subsidy.
Further, delegation brought to his notice that industries are burdened with the additional property taxes which are imposed by Gram Panchayat and Municipal Corporation, that too on RR Rates, who are not even providing any services to the industrial areas. It should be noted that the industries are already paying MIDC charges for the services provided by the MIDC including the infrastructure development.
Some major issues related to MIDC also discussed – while getting land/plot, applicant has to face auctioning process even though the land is available with the respective MIDCs specially in backward areas, which in turn is increasing the cost for the budding entrepreneurs. Processing of files take lot of time at Mumbai and it travels from lot many tables. Regular monitoring of Internal File Management System (IFMS) at Head Office will help in speedy process. Green area should be given for maintenance to private industries. Too many encroachments in the Industrial area, roads are being blocked, must be removed on regular basis for smooth accident and free working.
Delegation urged the minister to help in attracting the investment in Vidarbha Region. Cause for concern was expressed over Maharashtra, one of the most industrialised States in the country, where presently in the arena of ‘ease of doing business’, Maharashtra stands at 13th rank, we want Maharashtra to come up at least in first 5 ranks. In addition, to promote and bring investment in this region, Govt should give some relaxation in additional Butibori MIDC rates – be reduced to 750/- per meters. Electric Vehicle, Solar Panel, Logistic Industries be given special support as there is lot of scope looking at the central location, Textile Park as announced by the Central Government.
To increase exports from the region, the Central Govt has announced the concept of ‘One District One Product’ to support such units, which will create lot of local employment by using local raw materials.
For training entrepreneurs, IIM Nagpur applied to MADC, Mumbai for allotment of additional adjoining land for setting up the largest ‘Innovation & Incubation Park’ in Asia, besides IIM Nagpur MIHAN Campus, we pleaded the minister for expediting the case.
PSI incentives to industries investing 50 Cr to 100 Cr not really able to enjoy subsidies due to anomalies was also brought to his notice, needing immediate rectifications through a GR.
