Radhakrishan B, Municipal Commissioner, inspected Satpuda Botanical Park and gathered information about it on Thursday. The visit came after Nitin Gdkari, Union Minister for Surface Transport, assuring help for beautification and renovation of the park of Dr Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth. The park is to be developed at the initiative of Gadkari.
The park of PDKV is spread in 58 acres of land near Futala lake. Round 26 acres of the park is developed while the remaining is to be done. The concerned departments of the government are extending cooperation.
Radhakrishnan took information from Dr Dilip Chinchmalatpure, Environmentalist, about developmental works planned. He assured that NMC would also extend all possible help to the development of this park. The development plan includes: Rose, Lily plants on large-scale, amusement park, yoga centre plus butterfly park adjoining to Futala lake.
Dipak Kumar Meena, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Ravindra Bhelawe, Deputy Commissioner, Amol Chaurparag, Garden Superintendent, Dr D M Panchbhai, Associate Dean, College of Agriculture, Dr Ramakant Gajbhiye, Head of Horticulture Department, and others were present on the occasion.
