Amid commotion, the Zilla Parishad cess fund budget for Rs 38,70,81,216/- for 2022-23 was declared passed by Rashmi Barve, President, Nagpur Zilla Parishad, on Monday. Bharati Patil, Chairperson of the Finance Committee, presented the budget in the meeting held in the meeting hall of the ZP.
The meeting was adjourned soon after passing of the budget. Opposition members created commotion during discussion on two main points. They claimed that the distribution of milching cows involved favouritism as the cows were given to nearby persons of Sunil Kedar, Animal Husbandry Minister, who inaugurated the project on pilot basis two weeks ago. They even claimed that bar owners also got benefit of this scheme.
Another issue that created commotion was allocation of funds for agriculture purpose. The opposition members claimed that there was no justification in allocation of the funds adding that even some members of the Finance Committee were not happy as their say was not given justice.
Barve pointed out that the members would get Rs 10 lakh each this year under local development scheme, as last year there was some problem in allotting the funds. She also asked members for submitting proposals worth Rs two lakh for spending the amount of developmental works till March end. The ruling party members alleged that opposition members creating commotion did not want to take part in the discussion on issues. Both used to level charges and counter charges in the meeting.
