Asha workers and motivators attached to Asha Pravartak Federation (CITU) have threatened to impose ban on Polio vaccination programme, if their pending demands are not conceded by February 25.
Rajendra Sathe, President of the federation, said on Tuesday that the organisation resorted to agitations and made repeated representations to the authorities concerned in support of the demands, including getting honorarium of Rs 2000 to Rs 3000 despite hard work put in by them during coronavirus pandemic.
A deputation of federation has submitted memoranda to Municipal Commissioner, NMC Health Officer, CEO of ZP and District Health Officer about its decision to boycott Polio vaccination programme in case the demands like getting status of workers and minimum wages, honorarium for door-to-door and Kawach Kundal survey, distribution of medicine duty well before expiry, giving stationery, regular monthly honorarium etc.
The deputation consisted of Rajendra Sathe, Priti Meshram, Ranjana Paunikar, Ruplata Bomble and others.
