A beggar from Chhindwara district of Madhya Pradesh is in the news these days because he has become a part of the cashless campaign in begging. Not only this, he has also digitized himself by innovating to get rid of chillar for begging people and has also taken QR code on which he can beg digitally. Hemant Suryavanshi used to be an employee of the municipality here. When he lost his job, he decided to earn his living by begging.
During this, his biggest problem came with chiller
and free money. To whomever he extended his hand for alms, he would have avoided him saying that he was not a chiller. On this, he decided to digitize himself and also took the QR code.
Hemant is found roaming in the streets of the
city, the QR code is clearly visible around his neck.
The video of him begging by putting this QR code
around his neck is also becoming very viral on
social media these days. They suggest digital payment by showing the QR code when someone is told that there is no open money.Hemant has also got a big advantage of taking the help of technolo-
gy, because where he used to get one or two rupees
earlier, now he gets more than five rupees. They say
that their begging money has also increased due to
the use of digital technology.
Hemant has become a big part of this campaign,
because he is taking this campaign forward through
begging.Hemant tells that the QR code he has is
that of a shopkeeper, in whose account the begging
amount reaches and he goes to the shopkeeper in
the evening and takes his share.
This idea came in his mind, when he used to go somewhere to beg in the shop offices, he used to see QR code placed on the table or counter of the shop. Only after that he also took the QR code.Hemant tells that there has been a big advantage of digitizing himself for begging and the daily begging has increased as compared to earlier. Due to this the family is surviving.
