The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) Nagpur division fired 34 female employees on Tuesday for refusing to report to work and continuing the protest.
MSRTC employees have been on strike for the past four months, demanding that the state government take over the company. Despite several pleas and warnings, the majority of them have refused to work.
As a result, the corporation was forced to suspend and dismiss numerous of its employees.
The Nagpur division of MSRTC has total 319 women employees. Of these, 104 are working as conductors. These women were participating in the ongoing strike demanding takeover of MSRTC by the government.
For the convenience of passengers, the MSRTC had appealed them to join work at the earliest. Despite this, they did not go to work. Following this, the women conductors were dismissed.
