Flipkart, India’s homegrown e-commerce marketplace, today shared details of its grocery fulfillment center in Nagpur. Through this facility, Flipkart’s grocery shopping services will provide customers in the city and several neighboring cities including Amravati, Bramhapuri, Chandrapur and Wardha, access to high-quality daily essentials while ensuring their safety through doorstep delivery.
The Nagpur center will also serve customers in select cities of Madhya Pradesh and Chattisgarh.
The fulfillment center serves 324 PIN codes in Nagpur and surrounding regions. This facility is spread across nearly 1.17 lakh square feet and has an additional storage capacity of 16.5 lakh square feet. The center has created more than 500 direct and indirect job opportunities giving a boost to employment and economic growth in the region.
This is Flipkart’s first grocery fulfillment center in the Vidarbha region and will provide an impetus to the local food processing industry. Additionally, the center will enable improved livelihoods of small and medium farmers in the region by offering them better market linkages.
Consumers in these cities can choose from over 7,000 different products across 200 categories including daily household supplies, staples, snacks and beverages, confectionery, personal care, and more. Flipkart’s grocery offering is backed by an improved user experience, voice- enabled shopping, credit offerings and open box deliveries.

Underlining Flipkart’s people-centric approach and its commitment to strengthening diversity and inclusion in its supply chain operations, the Nagpur facility will have almost 66 percent of the employees who are either women or people with disabilities. Many of Flipkart’s large warehouses across the country have shifts during which end-to-end operations are managed entirely by women.
This is Flipkart’s fifth grocery fulfillment center in Maharashtra, bringing the total area of all facilities combined to 5.7 lakh square feet. Previously, Flipkart has launched grocery fulfillment centers in Mumbai and Pune, creating more than 2,500 jobs in Maharashtra to date.
