Seven goons killed a juvenile child in a wedding procession in an attempt to teach a lesson to a man who made nasty remarks on one of the goons’ WhatsApp status. After apprehending the thugs, the cops discovered that the individual who started the incident was not in the present in the Baarat.
Arrested accused are identified as Sameer Khan (22), Altamas Ansari (24), Anwar Ansari (22), Sohel Ansari (23), Ariff Ansari (23), Mohd Kaif (24) and a juvenile, all are residents of Mominpura.
According to police, Sameer Khan is a notorious criminal with three criminal cases registered against him including an attempt to murder.
Police said, one Rizwan Khan added a picture of Sameer Khan as his WhatsApp status on Friday. Shahbaz Khan made an abusive remark on it. After Sameer learnt about the remark, he phoned Shahbaz and abused him for the comment.
Shahbaz got furious and reportedly told him
that he was the king of the area. The reply again irked Sameer, an accused in three criminal cases. He asked Shahbaz about his location. Shahbaz replied that he was in a wedding procession that
was passing through Khana-Khajana Hotel. Furious Sameer called his accomplices and the goons reached near the hotel on motorcycles. They entered the procession and suddenly fired gun shots in air.
The ‘Baratis’ were taken aback on hearing the gun fire. Some of them mustered courage and tried to nab the armed goons. As a result, the goons started fleeing the spot and stabbed a minor boy in the scuffle. However, one Altamas was caught by the ‘Baratis’. He was handed-over to the police.
The police have arrested all the six accused persons and booked them under Sections 324, 307, 143, 147, 148, 159 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 3, 4, 25, 27 of Arms Act. Sr PI Sanjay Jadhav said that the court remanded the accused to five days police custody.
