Manukumar Srivastava, IAS batch 1986, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, has been appointed as the Chief Secretary, Maharashtra, on Monday.
He took the charge of new post from Debashish Chakravarty, who welcomed him by offering a bouquet and extending best wishes.
Srivastava held responsible posts like Municipal Commissioner, Chairman of Nagpur Improvement Trust and District Collector at Nagpur. He was in the city from 1998 to 2005. His wife is an artist. He had taken initiative in beautification of Futala lake.
Srivastava was accorded farewell on June 8, 2005. J S Saharia, who was the Municipal Commissioner at Nagpur, had also held this coveted post before Srivastava.
Born at Balrampur on April 15, 1963, he joined administrative services in 1986 and since then held various responsible posts. Various top officers congratulated Srivastava on becoming the new Chief Secretary of Maharashtra.
