According to the policy, all rented vehicles utilised by NMC must be electric vehicles. E-tenders will be issued in the same manner.
A proposal in this regard was presented in the stand ing committee meeting for approval on Monday.
The municipal adminis tration has a quota of 90 rented vehicles for the use of officials and office-bear ers. A total of 23.5 crore is spent annually on it.
The agreement for this vehicles will end on February 28.
Hence, e-tenders will be floated for e-vehicles for the years 2022-2023 and 2023 24. According to the policy, if e-vehicles are not avail able, NMC is expected to purchase vehicles that run on CNG or petrol.
