Karnataka High Court has rejected petition on making Hijab compulsory under Islamic religion.
The Uniform in schools in not related to any religion and cannot be claimed as right to following or preaching any religion provided under the Constitution of India.
Following the case of school denying use of Hijab in schools, the issue was moved to the court. The Court has stated that preaching any religion is a Constitutional Right. But the school uniform does not hinder this right and Hijab is not essential in the Islamic religion.
Spokesperson of MIM A Zalil has stated that appeal against the Karnataka High Court would be made in the Supreme Court. Those following the religion should not be deprived of education in the name of uniform.
