The abruptly concluded Khasdar Sanskritik Mahotsava in December month due to coronavirus pandemic will now be held from March 19 to 24 at Ishwar Deshmukh College Ground, near Somwari quarters on public demand.
Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport, who conceptualised the programme, will inaugurate this mahotsava part II on March 19 at 6.30 pm. Devendra Fadnavis, Opposition Leader and former Chief Minister, will be the guest of honour. Soon after inaugural function, Shankar Mahadevan, prominent singer and music director, will present My Country My Music live in concert.
Owing to increasing corona cases and restrictions imposed by the government, the mahotsava could not hold programmes by Shankar Mahadevan and Hema Malini on December 25 and 26, 2021. Now, the graph of corona cases has gone down remarkably in the city and hence the Sanskritik Mahotsava Aayojan Samiti has decided to hold the mahotsava part II free of cost from March 19 to 24.
This was stated by Anil Sole- ex MLC, President of the samiti, while addressing a press conference at Press Club here on Tuesday. He said that Indipop Queen Sunidhi Chauhan, wonder voice Sairam Iyyer and versatile Javed Ali Pushpa Shrivalli fame will present live in concert from March 20 to 22 at 6.30 pm respectively.
On March 23, a humourous poets’ gathering would be held in the evening in which Padma Shri Surendra Sharma, Padma Shri Surendra Dubey, Virsat poetess Kavita Tiwari, Dr Vishnu Saxena, Arun Jeimini and Dr Praveen Shukla will render their poems. On the last day, the much-awaited Radha Raasbihari dance programme by Hema Malini would be organised, Sole added.
He said that in order to make citizens enjoy the programme, the organisers have made available digital passes for 10,000 citizens. They have also made necessary arrangements for drinking water, parking, sanitizers/masks as well as medical in view of rising temperature.
Sole and other office-bearers of the samiti have appealed to the people from Nagpur, Vidarbha and Central India to participate in the programme in large numbers. Jaiprakash Gupta, Secretary, Prof Madhup Pandey, Vice-President, Rajesh Bagdi, Treasurer, Dr Gaurishankar Parashar, Bhola Sarvar, Sanjay Gulkari and others were present at the press conference.
