Maha Metro Nagpur has proposed to start passenger services on Orange Line (Khapri to Kasturchand Park Metro Station) from 6.30 am from 19 March (Saturday). This follows repeated demand to that effect from the commuters on that line. The last passenger service on Orange Line is at 9 pm.
This will help the school and college students in a big way. As the threat due to Corona has been considerably reduced, the schools and colleges and even some other commercial establishments have regularized their services as per the pre-COVID period. Even those who had adapted Work From Home mode and others have since been venturing out. This led to demand of advancing metro services in the morning period.
Presently the first passenger service on Orange line is set at 7.10 am. As per the new schedule to come into effect from 19 March, the first service will start at 6.30 am and would be followed by services at every 15 minute interval. The first service at 6.30 would start from both – Khapri and Kasturchand Park Metro Station simultaneously. This would greatly help school and college students and also employees who have to rush to educational institute or workplace in the early hours.
The passenger services on Aqua Line (Sitabuldi Interchange to Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station) are operational from 6.30 am to 9 pm. Thus the metro train services on both the lines would run concurrent from 6.30 am to 9 pm every day. This change in the metro train timing on the Orange Line would be of convenience to the citizens.
