DCP Zone II Vanita Sahu conducted surprise checking of country liquor shops, wine shops and bars in Dhantoli and Sitabuldi areas in her jurisdiction in view of coming Holi festival.
The cops warned the owners to follow the rules of not giving or serving alcohol without permits and ensure no chaos or altercation takes place in front of their shops or bars due to over drinking, parking issue etc.
During the drive, cops issued challans to six vehicle owners for wrong parking. Action was taken against two bars under Section 82 of Bombay Prohibition Act.
