TTEs would no longer need to carry reservation charts aboard trains because the railway administration has chosen to give them with hand-held terminals (HHT). They would quickly receive information about available berths in a running train if they used this method. The Central Railway Information System will be connected to this hand-held terminal. Its use will assist travellers with RAC tickets in obtaining berths as soon as possible.
A total of 400 TTES of Central Railway’s Nagpur Division are going to get hand-held terminals. Hence, no charts having data of berths will be seen in the hands of TTEs. It is said that with the use of HHT, TTEs will be able to perform their work with more speed.
HHT to help TTEs, passengers HHT are going to prove beneficial to TTEs who check tickets of passengers. With the help of these devices, TTEs will not have to carry the bundle of charts on the train.
Similarly, they will get data of vacant seats in trains instantly which will help them allot seats to passengers with RAC tickets.
The device will enable TTEs to send information of vacant seats to the next station in the running train. This helps passengers who bought tickets at the next station in getting information about the vacant seats.
