The last Metro train service on both the – Orange and Aqua Lines of Maha Metro Nagpur would be available at 9.30 pm. This will come into effect from 26th March (Saturday). This follows repeated demand to that effect from the commuters on that line. Presently, the last passenger service on both the lines is scheduled at 9 pm.
It may be recalled that recently, Maha Metro had advanced its first passenger services for the day at 6.30 am on both the lines. This has helped school and college students in a big way. As the threat perception due to Corona has been considerably reduced, the schools and colleges and even some other commercial establishments have regularized their services as per the pre-COVID period.
Even those who had adapted `Work From Home’ mode and others have since been venturing out. This led to demand of advancing metro services in the morning period. There has been increased activity even during late evening hours and this had led to demand, especially those working or associated with commercial establishments like hotels, shops, restaurants for scheduling the last metro service to 9.30 pm.
Thus, as per the proposed schedule, passenger services on Aqua Line (Sitabuldi Interchange to Lokmanya Nagar Metro Station) and Orange Line (Khapri to Kasturchand Park Metro Station) would be available from 6.30 am to 9.30 pm beginning 26th March. This change in the metro train timing would be of convenience to the citizens, especially those working in the evening shifts.
