Former Maharashtra Minister and BJP leader Anil Bonde has been punished with three months simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 10,000. The punishment has been awarded by Amravati District and Sessions Court for vandalising office of Warud Tahasildar and using abusive language against him.
The Tahasildar Nandkishor Kale had lodged a complaint against Bonde on May 30, 2016.
Kale had detected deficiencies in 240 applications submitted under Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana. Bonde visited Kale’s office to seek information about his action and abused him. Bonde is also facing charges of vandalising the office and damaging official documents at Kale’s office. Bonde wanted applications of his workers to be cleared by the Tahasildar, which he refused pointing out deficiencies.
Following Kale’s complaint, police had filed a charge sheet on May 11, 2017. Bonde was held guilty under Section 332 of IPC by the court.
