Rashtriya Lok Adalat will be held on May 7 here on behalf of District Legal Services Authority, Nagpur, at the directives by National Legal Services Authority, New Delhi, v and Maharashtra State Legal Services Authority.
As many as 30,000 pending and disputed cases would be put up in it for sorting out them. The authority has appealed to concerned persons to participate in the programme.
The main intention of Lok Adalat is to clear pending cases, new and important cases through this machinery at earliest possible. The pending cases are scrutinised and put up before Lok Adalat for amicable settlement. The Lok Adalat programme would sort out pending cases in the courts in respect of criminal cases, motor accident claims, transport, marriage/family cases, labour dispute, wages to industrial workers, power thefts/bills, land acquisition, recruitment cases etc.
S B Agrawal, District & Sessions Judge and Chairman of the authority, Nagpur, and Abhijit G Deshmukh, Secretary of the authority, have appealed to parties to take benefit of this opportunity to sort out the pending cases on May 7.
