The meteorological department had issued orange alert till May 4 for entire Vidarbha region due to the drastic rise in temperature.
While Nagpur got slight respite on Thursday with the max imum daytime temper ature dropping to 44.3 degree Celsius from Wednesday’s 44.8 degree Celsius, temper ature remained high in all districts of Vidarbha.
At 45.8 degree Celsius, Chandrapur was the hottest city in the region, Akola ranked second with 45.4 degree Celsius. Bramhapuri was at third place with temperature reaching 45.2 degree Celsius.
Temperature in Wardha too reached 45.1 degree Celsius.
Three cities recorded temperatures above 44 degree Celsius. These included Nagpur (44.3 degree Celsius). Yavatmal (44.7 degree Celsius) and Amravati (44.4 degree Celsius). In the last 24 hours, Akola, Buldhana, Brahmapuri, Gadchiroli, Wardha and Yavatmal recorded a rise of 0.1 to 0.6 degree Celsius.
