Based on ticket sales and study of footfalls, officials of Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) realised that during the in the evening when staff from employees are returning back home, there is a sudden rush of travellers. Hence to ensure faster movement, now instead of a 15 minutes interval a metro service would be available every 12 minutes. Most of the Government offices close by 7 pm and metro officials want to tap the fixed crowd and hence decided on offering maximum convenience.
Due to summer heat, people mostly did not venture out and hence the ridership was a bit low. But now with an occasional cloudy atmosphere, during afternoon and evening hours the ridership has increased.
