People can watch supermoon on Tuesday night (June 14) occurring in the year 2022. The moon will move from 3,57,658 km distance from the earth and hence it will be bigger in size and bright also.
Sky Watch Group of Chandrapur said the moon would be seen bigger by 7 to 10 per cent as well as brighter on tomorrow night. Over 99 per cent portion of the planet would have moonlight on this pournima. However, there could be a possibility of cloudy sky due to monsoon and therefore people from from some parts cannot enjoy this celestial incident. However, people from East Maharashtra can watch the supermoon.
The moon revolves around the earth through oval route and hence it is sometimes seen near or at long distance. The phenomenon is called supermoon if it comes nearer to the earth while revolving around the earth. This pournima is called strawberry moon in western countries. The minimum distance of the moon from earth is 3,56,000 km and miximum distance is 4,06,000 km.
