A floating solar park of 105 MW involving an expenditure of Rs 580 crore is being developed at Erai dam in Chandrapaur.
Dr Nitin Raut, Power Minister, was speaking after taking a review of the activities in Mumbai on Tuesday. The project is expected to be completed in 15 months period while the tender process would begin soon.
Maharashtra State Electricity Generation Company Ltd has constructed this irrigation project at Erai dam to supply water to Chandrapur Super Thermal Power Station as well as to Chandrapur city.
The floating solar park will be a great attraction to tourists. It will have facilities like gallery and selfie point. Dr Raut asked officials concerned to take due care of safety to tourists as tigers and other wild animals move in the premises of the thermal power station and nearby areas.
Sanjay Khandare, Chairman and Managing Director, MSEGCL, Vijay Singhal, CMD, MSEDCL, Uttam Zalte, Advisor, Chandrakant Thotwe, Director, and officials were present in the meeting.
