Project officers of Union Surface Transport Ministry made a presentation before Radhakrishnan B, Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, NMC, on I-roads (Intelligent Solutions for Road Safety through Technology & Engineering) here on Friday. The NMC authorities identified 37 black and 20 grey spots that are accident-prone in the city.
The authorities provided information about such spots that are accident prone – occurring mishaps, possibility of accidents, people losing lives. Out of 37 black spots coming under NMC, highway and State authorities, the presentation was made on safety report and I-road for Chikhli, Pardi Hanuman Mandir Chowk, Prakash High School and Mhalgi Nagar spots. They also gave information about 20 grey spots and suggested measures for road safety and creating traffic system.
Pradeep Khawse, Chief Engineer, NMC, Ravindra Budhade, Executive Engineer (Traffic), Sonali Chavan, Executive Engineer, Ajay Mankar, Girish Wasnik, Shrikant Deshpande, Deputy Engineer, Varma Konala, CEO of INAI, Gopinath Chappidi from IIT Hyderabad, Dr Ambu Mani Subramaniam, Principal Secretary of INAI, Dr Velnuruyan Senapati, Chief Secretary of CRIA, Raju Wagh, Representative of the ministry, NHAI officials and others were present.
